May is always that time of year when it feels like we’re wandering from one long weekend to the next. Not that we’re complaining, obviously – especially when there’s a sale or two on, like the one currently being hosted by Amazon.

The retailer’s Bank Holiday bonanza isn’t quite the medley of slashed prices that we’ve seen in previous sales – if we could take a guess, the online retail giant is keeping its powder relatively dry for Prime Day in July. But there are still some pretty stupendous discounts, the best of which we’ve listed below.

There are lots of other great deals launching over the weekend, and we’ll be updating this page as soon as they go live – so stay tuned.

Amazon has lowered prices on many of its own devices – but as you’ll discover in our five-star review, we’re huge fans of its ever-evolving smart speaker, the Echo Dot. A 40% price drop means the third-generation model is now just £30.

Grab a bargain TV this bank holiday weekend by taking advantage of a hefty 44% discount on the LG 43UK6200PLA 43in 4K UHD Smart TV. This substantial saving reduces the price to just £279. With ThinQ AI technology, this 43in TV offers voice control and comes with Freeview Play for access to on-demand TV services like iPlayer, ITV hub and All 4.

Kill two beards with one stone by adding the Philips OneBlade Pro Hybrid Trimmer and Shaver to your bathroom cabinet. This handy tool trims, shaves and grooms using Philips OneBlade technology, designed to work for facial hair of any length. And thanks to a 40% discount, you can now pick one up for just £45.

Clean up with a 20% saving on the Bosch EasyAquatak High Pressure Washer. With 120 bar cleaning performance, this compact pressure washer can blitz dirt from your patio, driveway, bike or car. The set comes with a 5-metre-long hoze, a 450ml water filter and a variety of nozzles for tackling different jobs.

The Roomba is the “grandaddy of robot vacumm cleaners” according to our Head of Reviews, and now you can check out the brand’s impressive technology for less thanks to a 43% discount on the iRobot Roomba 895 robot vacuum cleaner. Normally retailing at £700, you can save £300 on this Alexa-enabled robotic vacuum cleaner with its 3-stage cleaning system.

Amazon has trimmed the price of the Philips Series 7000 hair clippers by 50%. Now half price, the clippers are on offer for just £35 this bank holiday weekend and offer powerful DualCut technology and self-sharpening blades. The set comes with three motorised hair combs to trim hair to different lengths and the clippers run for 120 minutes once fully charged.

Get your tan on without breaking the bank with this hot deal on a St Tropez starter kit. Usually retailing for £15, it’s on offer for just £10, almost half the regular price. The set features a collection of best-selling products including the Classic Bronzing Mousse, which is highlighted in our roundup of the best fake tans to buy. You’ll also get a St Tropez exfoliator, a moisturiser and an applicator mitt.

Amazon has knocked £25 off the Fire HD 8 tablet bringing the price down to £55. Featuring an 8in HD screen, it comes with 1.5GB of RAM and Dolby Atmos audio as well as 2-megapixel cameras at the front and back. The 32GB version is offer for £75, down from £100.

Fancy turning your living room into a home cinema? Take advantage of this deal on Epson’s EH-TW7400, which brings the price down by 30%. It supports 4K picture quality and, in Eco mode, will let you play one film a day for a walloping 7 years before the bulb needs replacing.
