Price: £13 | Buy now from AmazonWant something fun and extravagant to treat the little ones this year? This Easter egg from Thorntons is ideal for younger children, offering a little special something that basic eggs just don’t have. This eye-catching egg consists of a thick, milk chocolate shell with a fun 3D chocolate dinosaur design on the front which is sure to capture your child’s imagination as soon as they upon up the box. If your child tends to prefer magic creatures and fairies to prehistoric animals, Thortons also offers a unicorn-based version that is sure to add a little sparkle to your Easter Sunday.

Price: £30 | Buy now from OcadoFor those looking to push the boat out this Easter, Hotel Chocolat’s milk chocolate egg is a true showstopper. On its own, the extra-thick shell elevates this above any mainstream option. But when you realise there are a whopping 12 mini flavoured eggs inside as well, you start to understand just how impressive this really is.

One half of the shell is 40% milk chocolate, while the other is 50% and the chocolate eggs inside consist of a range of flavours including salted caramel cream, pistachio, vanilla and raspberry. This egg wants you to know that your Easter eggs don’t have to be dark chocolate to be fancy or grown-up and we definitely agree.

Price: £14 | Buy now from SelfridgesOperating out of county Dublin in Ireland, Butlers is well-loved both at home and abroad for its luxurious chocolate products. This Butlers Easter egg comes beautifully wrapped in pearlised white packaging, making it perfect for gifting, and while it can often be difficult to find white chocolate that isn’t overly sugary tasting or chalky in texture, our top pick for white chocolate lovers ticks all the boxes: it has a deliciously smooth texture, a comfortingly sweet and milky flavour and a nice snappy thickness to its chocolate.

Once you’ve cracked this egg open, you’ll be treated to a tasty handful of Butlers white chocolate truffles to go along with your egg. While it may be a little more expensive than some of the options on this list, we think its price remains reasonable for such a well-packaged and grown-up white chocolate Easter egg.

Price: £16 | Buy now from AmazonThere’s nothing quite like the salty, sweet, creamy taste of a great peanut butter treat. If you or someone you know is a fan of this more-ish flavour combination, then this Reese’s Easter egg is the perfect option for Easter snacking. Alongside a tasty, hollow milk chocolate egg, you’ll also get three mini Reese’s eggs made from milk chocolate and filled with a delicious peanut butter creme that anyone who’s tried the brand’s peanut butter cups will be familiar with. This Easter bundle also comes with the option to add your own customised card, for those of you who want to make things that egg-stra bit special this Easter.

Price: £25 | Buy now from RaveCombining blonde, caramelised chocolate with ground coffee (a dark Costa Rican single origin), Rave’s limited edition easter egg is delicious, and extremely moreish. While a lot of coffee-flavoured chocolate can taste unpleasantly artificial, the notes of coffee in the Rave egg taste fresh while the chocolate is rich but not too sickly.

As a limited edition, handmade luxury easter egg, it’s not cheap. £25 for a hollow 180g chocolate egg will perhaps be a stretch for those after a bit more bite for their buck, whether that means extra treats inside the egg or just…more chocolate. Nevertheless, Rave’s Coffee Chocolate Easter Egg tastes great, and we haven’t hesitated in including it in our roundup.

What’s more, all of the egg’s packaging can be recycled at home and, for what it’s worth, it looks very nice too.

Price: £9 | Buy now from SainsburysBecause who doesn’t love a bit of Lindt? Our pick of the brand’s Easter offerings, this hollow egg is made of classic Lindt chocolate, which means it’s subtly chocolatey, arrestingly creamy and delightfully smooth in texture. That said, our favourite element of this Easter treat might be the blood orange truffles that accompany the nicely sized egg. Like all Lindor chocolates, under a thick, snappy exterior they reveal a smooth, flavoured interior. Not at all sweet and cloying, these blood orange truffles won us over with their zingy, fruity flavour, which paired perfectly with Lindt’s classic creaminess.

Price: £12 | Buy now from OcadoIf you really want to splash out this Easter, Prestat’s Marc de Champagne egg is a surefire winner. While it’s not the biggest egg we’ve ever seen, it does have an impressively thick shell, and more importantly, one which houses a handful of outstanding, boozy champagne truffles. Though the main egg doesn’t contain any alcohol itself, at 37% cocoa, it makes for an incredibly creamy and indulgent Easter treat.

Price: £18 (3 eggs) | Buy now from AmazonWith this Cadbury’s Bundle you can get three delicious milk chocolate Easter eggs for just a little over £5 each. The collection includes Creme Egg, Dairy Milk Buttons and Mini Eggs varieties, each of which come with a medium-sized hollow chocolate egg and a mini packet of each chocolate.

Cadbury’s chocolate is a true crowd pleaser and this is a great set if you’ve got three hungry kids (or adults) who love to indulge in a bit of chocolate over Easter. Better still, it’s delivered right to your door, so you won’t even need to step outside your front door to satisfy those cravings.
