In terms of price per gigabyte, OCZ’s Agility 3 is an inexpensive SSD, being just 57p per gigabyte. That’s less than half of the pence-per-gigabyte cost of some SSDs, and it means you’ll be able to secure 240GB of space for just £139.
The stalwart SandForce SF-2281 controller is pressed into action once again, and the 240GB of capacity on offer is divided into sixteen 25nm NAND chips, each offering 15GB of space. It’s worth bearing in mind that the OCZ Agility 3 doesn’t come with accessories. Its box contains the drive and nothing else. The warranty is nothing special, either. A lot of drives also have a three-year warranty, and some SSDs have a five-year warranty.
It might be cheap, but the Agility 3, but that doesn’t make the OCZ Agility 3 a good buy. If you’re searching for a budget SSD, the Crucial M4 SSD 128GB is much better, costing just £83 for 128GB, which translates to 64p per gigabyte, and a much more consistent performer.
