If you’re only going to buy one front-panel device, make it the All-In-One 2. Available in black and silver, this clever 5.25in device does everything. Behind the fold-down flap there’s a memory card reader with support for all of the common formats, and eSATA, three USB, FireWire, headphones and microphone sockets. If that wasn’t enough, the All-In-One 2 is also a three-fan controller. It comes with cables that connect to your fans and motherboard, so that you can still monitor them through software. The fans can be controlled individually, letting you set their RPM. Alternatively, you can set them to auto mode, where the All-In-One 2 adjusts their speed based on the temperature readings from the matching probes, which you attach inside your case. In addition, you can set alarms using the dedicated controls and excellent LCD screen for specific temperature readings and fan speeds, so that you’re immediately notified if something’s gone wrong and your computer’s overheating. The downside is that the All-In-One 2 is complex to plug in and configure.

Performance was excellent with write speeds of 2.71MB/s and read speeds of 14.29MB/s. It may be more difficult to set up than other card readers, but if you want one device to do everything the All-In-One 2 is the perfect choice.
