Motorola’s rumoured Moto E smartphone has reportedly broken cover online ahead of an official launch, with images appearing (then being swiftly deleted) from Facebook.
Originally spotted by AndroidPolice, a user posted the images of what is allegedly the Moto E to Motorola Mexico’s official Facebook brand page. The image was swiftly deleted, but not before someone could capture a screenshot.If the phone genuinely is the Moto E, it appears Motorola has saved money by making the screen smaller than the Moto G and ditching the front-facing webcam. The all-white finish is unquestionably plastic, but the shadow from the flash suggests it is slimmer than the Moto G. The screen appears to show an unskinned version of Android 4.4 KitKat, recognisable by the transparent notification bar and icons.
Little is known officially about the Moto E, with the latest rumours suggesting a 4.3in screen with a lower-than-720p resolution, 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1,900mAH battery.
We won’t have long to wait to find out if the leak is accurate; Motorola’s announcement event is set to take place in London next week. We’ll be at the event, so be sure to check back on the 13th to find out what the new entry-level phone is actually like.
