Samsung may have set the date for the launch of the Galaxy Note 10. Sources speaking to CNET report that the tech giant will officially announce its new handset on 7 August at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. As it happens, this is the same venue that Samsung used to announce the Galaxy Note 9 at last year’s Unpacked event.

The Note 9 was available for purchase on 24 August, just over two weeks after it was originally announced. Presumably, the Note 10 will follow the same schedule, which is great news for anyone hoping to get their hands on the new device as soon as possible.

If the rumours are to be believed, we could be looking at no fewer than four Galaxy Note 10 handsets. Leaks suggest that the Note 10 will come in two sizes, with the smaller model hovering at around 6.3in and the larger at a stonking 6.7in. There will also supposedly be 5G-ready variants of both handsets for a total of four Samsung phablets.

It looks like the Note 10 will have a triple rear camera, arranged vertically as in the image above (courtesy of Ben Geskin). The hole-punch selfie camera will seemingly sit on the upper-middle edge of the display rather than the right corner; frustratingly, leakers can’t seem to agree on whether it will be a single or dual-sensor arrangement.

Meanwhile, other sources have potentially confirmed that the handset will use UFS 3 storage technology for a more responsive user experience. The OnePlus 7 Pro is currently the only smartphone to employ UFS 3 technology, although Samsung has confirmed that both the Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy Fold will also have it when they launch.

Internal specifications elude us, although we can be reasonably sure the handset will use either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 processor. We don’t know how much the device(s) will cost, although, again, we can take a guess: the Note 9 starts at a princely £899 so prepare your wallet for a hammering.

Of course, this is all conjecture: Galaxy Note 10 leaks have thus far been notoriously unreliable. All we know for certain is that the Note 10 will come with an S Pen and a larger display than that of the Galaxy S10 Plus. It looks like we’ll just have to wait until the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on 7 August for everything else.
