Acer announces new super-cheap Iconia Tab 7 and One 7 Android tablets

Two new budget Android tablets are on the way from Acer, with the Iconia Tab 7 and Iconia One 7 both launching in June for under £125. The Iconia Tab 7 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and had a 7in 1280 x 800 pixel display. The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz Media Tex quad-core processor, 1GB of memory and comes in either 8GB or 16GB versions. Storage can be expanded further thanks to a micro-SD card slot. Acer said Iconia Tab 7 battery should last up to six hours, while there is also a SIM card slot to use the tablet as a phone or for 3G data. The tablet weighs in at 298g and has a 0.3MP front-facing camera and a 5MB rear camera. Prices for the Iconia Tab 7 will start at €149 (£122) when it launches sometime in June.

The Iconia One 7 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, has a 7in 1280 x 800 display, 1.6Ghz Intel Atom dual-core processor , 1GB of memory and comes in 8GB or 16GB versions. The tablet weighs 330g and Acer claims battery life of up to seven hours. On the front is a 0.3MP camera with a 2MP camera on the back.

The Iconia One 7 will also launch by the end of June with prices starting at €139 (£114).
