Amazon Prime Video is constantly updating its library with bundles of new content, be it original programming or licensed films and series. Trying to find new content on Prime Video UK isn’t always easy, especially when you consider the tens of thousands of films, series and channels available. Moreover, Amazon Prime Video doesn’t always promote every new piece of content on its home page.

With so much to watch and so little time to do so, choice fatigue is almost inevitable. Thankfully, we’re here to lend a helping hand with our round-up of every new coming to Amazon Prime Video UK – both now and in the future.

If you’re ready to get stuck into some fresh new films and series then read on – you might just find your new favourite.

Absentia follows the story of FBI agent Emily (Stana Katic) who reappears six years after being declared dead in absentia, with no memory of where she went during that time. On her return, she’s forced to face her husband – who remarried in her absence – as well as a number of murder accusations.

After a gripping first series, the mysterious crime drama is back and more confusing than ever. In Season 2, Emily must continue to prove her innocence and unravel what really happened during her time in captivity.

This gritty, urban crime thriller has seriously divided opinions since its release, some praising it for its imagination, others saying it’s unnecessarily edgy. The drama follows Martin (Miles Teller), a 30-year-old sheriff who is forced to work as a hitman for a Nigerian gangster in exchange for protection. This unsavoury arrangement comes about after his work partner Larry (Lance Gross) is shot dead in the street, leading Martin to fear for his own life.

There’s lots of drug use and violence in the series and the episodes don’t take the usual format you’d expect from a crime drama. Instead, director Nicolas Winding Refn (Pusher, Drive) takes viewers on a constantly changing narrative that’s incredibly arty and, well, just a bit weird.

When ex-con Dell (Kevin Hart) has to prove he’s looking for work as part of his parole agreement, he ends up forming an unlikely friendship with quadriplegic billionaire Philip (Bryan Cranston). The touching comedy follows the pair, as their relationship develops and Philip finds out more about Dell’s life before prison, including his estrangement from his wife and son.

Interestingly, The Upside is an adaptation of the French film Les Intouchables, released in 2012. If you’re looking for a funny, feel-good movie that’s easy to watch this might be your perfect Saturday night film.

What happens when superheroes go bad? The Boys get involved. The dark comedic drama is based on the comic book of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and co-created and illustrated by Darick Robertson. It follows a band of vigilantes – better known as The Boys – as they find different ways to give corrupt superheroes a taste of their own medicine.

Using some pretty dirty tactics, The Boys set out to unmask the evil deeds of the world’s most loved heroes – collectively known as The Seven. Expect plenty of action (and gore) in the new series, which takes a more realistic look at what superheroes get up to in their spare time.

This Prime Original docuseries – executive produced by Jay Z – follows the encarceration of rapper Meek Mill. It joins him months after his early release from prison and subsequent transformation as a prison reform activist. After being arrested under dubious circumstances in 2017, each episode follows Meek and his struggle to battle with an unfair justice system.

We’ve only been treated to a few teaser trailers for Carnival Row but we’re already excited by what we’ve seen so far. Based in a mythical Victorian world, the series tells the story of an on-going struggle between the untrusting humans and immigrant mythological creatures that inhabit the world.

The new series boasts some pretty big names too, with Cara Delvigne and Orlando Bloom take the leading roles as Vignette Stonemoss and Rycroft Philostrate respectively. We’re getting some series steampunk vibes from the current clips, so if you’re hungry for a new neo-noir fantasy series, you won’t have to wait much longer.
